When trying to sell a car, one of the most basic things to do is clean it out. Wether you’re looking to put your car on the market or just doing some spring cleaning, now is a great time of the year to really give your car some love. Of the million different ways that you can prepare your car for a sale or just spruce it up in general, is to spit shine the shell. That’s right, we’re talking about car wax. So here are my top three favorite car waxes:
Super Hard Shell Turtle Wax: Perhaps one of the most iconic waxes in the market, Turtle Wax is a basic product that produces phenomenal results. This was the first wax that I
ever used and has never failed to leave me absolutely stunned when used on my car. Because it produces such great results and is extremely affordable, Turtle Wax is what I use the most. This magical wax can be bought nearly anywhere that sells car care products and it goes for a modest price of 6 bucks.
Meguiar’s Gold Class Carnauba Plus Paste Wax: I found this wax at target and succumbed to buying it for two reasons: It was only $14 and it had the super cool word carnauba in it. Despite my lack of knowledge regarding carnauba, it ended up being a great buy. Carnauba is actually a tree in Brazil that produces an incredibly resilient wax. This wax goes “wax on and wax off” incredibly easy and has some long-term benefits for the exterior of your car. The carnauba provides great protection from UV rays that cause paint to fade and is considerably water-resistent.
Meguiar’s NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0: With a name that sounds like a robot from 2099, this wax produces astonishing results. If you’re willing to shed out $20, you’re going to be pleased with the results that you will see from this wax. If you’ve got some hot wheels, this is the wax that I would be using on my car. Even though it’s a little more pricey than the other two that I mentioned, this wax really does bring out the color of your car a lot more than the others.
You can buy each of these different waxes in liquid or paste form at the same price. Using one over the other is really a matter of personal preference. Any type of paste wax will typically come with a foam applicator but it is pretty important to use a micro fiber towel when buffing in liquid wax to reduce the chance of scratching the paint. If done correctly, all of your waxing efforts will pay off with your end result. If done incorrectly, waxing your car is going to be a real buzz killer. It’s a guarantee that you’ll thump yourself in the head if you end up with a car with wax swirls caked on the hood. If you’re not sure what your doing, get familiar with how to properly do the job before you begin. With all that said, I’m off to wax my car…. With Turtle Wax!
