The Triple C Approach to Selling Your Car Faster than Jessie James Can Draw a Six Shooter!

If you’re wondering if it is indeed possible to sell your car faster than Jessie James can sling a six shooter, I might as well be fair and tell you that it is highly unlikely.  Nevertheless, using my infamous Triple C approach for selling a car may truly surprise you.  This approach is best applied to cars that are already in good-overall condition.  The Triple C represents Care, Clean and Carfax.  Let’s jump into it.  I’ll explain it to you so we can sell your car already!

Care:  If it’s been awhile, take your car in for a quick tune-up.  Change out the oil, replace worn out components and fix other minor repairs.  I know that this may seem like a waste to pay for a tune-up right before you sell your car, but it will pay off don’t worry.  Don’t get too heavily invested in your car with expensive repairs.  If you know that your car has some big problems that need to be repaired, let your asking price reflect that!  Be honest and fair to your fellow service men and women.  By providing a record of it’s recent tune-up and repair history to an interested buyer, their interest will convert into pursuit.  Now say you spent $100 getting your car tuned up, add this dollar amount onto your selling price.  Theoretically, you’ll be getting what you originally wanted for your car and the vehicle you will be selling will be in prime condition for its next owner.  If you have a foreign car, getting a pre-sale tune-up might not be the way to go.  Make reasonable repairs and adjustments to your car as your budget permits.  Any kind of restorative effort goes a very long way in the minds of buyers.  This proves to them that the car they are considering for purchase has been well taken care of.

Clean:  Do I really need to say much about this?  Take your car down to the car wash and spend at least a solid hour or two giving it some love.  After all of the time and miles that it has seen you through during your ownership, give your car some serious TLC.  Wash, wax, vacuum, place air fresheners, clean the windows, vacuum, vacuum, clean upholstery, condition the dashboard and vaccum your car!  Did I mention vaccum?  Dehydrated french fries and taco bell wrappers will lower the interest of potential buyers and will inevitably lower the price of offers.  If the inside of your car looks trashy, people can only assume that the car hasn’t been taken care of in other aspects either!  You would be surprised at how much buyers appraise a car simply by how it looks on the inside.

Carfax:  If you don’t know what Carfax is, click here before you read further.  Assuming your car hasn’t befallen any traumatic experiences during your period of ownership, pre-ordering your own Carfax report is a respectful gesture to potential buyers.  They will really appreciate that.  By having the Carfax report on hand, any hesitant buyer can be swayed. Spend the $39.99 to get a report and be done with it.  With a good Carfax history report, you can even increase the asking price!

Well there you have it, the Triple C approach!  That didn’t take too long did it?  Remember, this method is best applied to cars that are in over-all good health to begin with.  If you have any questions at all, feel free to comment below or let me know.  Like I said before, if you are selling a car with issues, let the price reflect it.  Be fair and reasonable.  Here at MilitaryCarLot.com, we strive to provide a great environment for people to buy and sell cars as fast as possible.  Best of luck with your next sale!
