This 1944 Ford GPW was purchased by its previous owner in 2004, and a subsequent refurbishment included repainting the replacement tub and replacing the canvas top. The truck was purchased by the seller on BaT in August 2022, as a surprise for his father, a US Army veteran, who served in World War 2 and operated a similar GPW. It was taken to various local shows, where his father would wear his old uniform and tell stories of his time in service. The drab olive truck has military-style stenciling, a rear-mounted jerrycan and spare tire holder, a shovel and axe affixed to the body, 16″ steel wheels, a pintle hitch, an AN/GRC-9 radio, a DY-88 Dynamotor power supply, and a 12-volt electrical system. Power is provided by a 134.2ci inline-four linked with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. This GPW is now offered in Missouri with a tool kit, a first aid kit, radio accessory bags, various instruction manuals, spare parts, a truck cover, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
