Don't Drive Buzzed!

Every year during New Year's people die from a completely preventable cause: Drunk drivers.  According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, deaths resulting from drunk driving are actually increasing from previous years.  In the past ten years, 41% of people who die on New Year's are killed by drunk drivers.  As a response to this astounding figure, 7.5 million dollars have been invested into a nationally advertised campaign called "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over".  Needless to say, authorities will be cracking down on drunk drivers during New Year's and convicted offenders could be facing consequences even more severe in years past.  Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is undoubtedly the most selfish thing that you can do as a driver.  Not only are you placing your own life at risk, you are gambling with the lives of every single person that you encounter on the road.  In your sober mind, you would think twice before gambling with someone else's life.  So before you go out to celebrate New Year's, have plans set up that will get you home safe and sound.  Don't be a statistic that is published for deaths from drunk driving.  On a happier note, happy New Year's!
