It seemed to be just another day at school for me in my 7th grade history class during my father’s mid-career tour at Scott AFB, IL. But little did I know, I was literally about to see history unfold. After the first tower had been hit, our classroom television set was switched on to stay current with live news coverage. The classroom was full of excited chatter. Then the second plane entered the frame. As the explosion penetrated through the south tower, all noise in the classroom ceased.
