In the lives of children, the holiday season is an important time in which a child is impacted positively or negatively. This is the time when memories are made. Imagine what it would be like for a child to know only sadness during the holidays? As the military community, we have a very special and unique opportunity to ensure that the holiday season will be remembered as a time of jubilation and celebration to underprivileged children across the world! Dating all the way back to 1947, the Toys for Tots Foundation has been bringing joy to children every christmas season. That’s 65 years of happiness and hope brought to the lives of underprivileged children! Headed by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, the Toys for Tots Foundation brought 16 million toys to the homes of more than 7 million children last year alone!
Getting involved in the Toys for Tots Foundation is easy! You can do anything from volunteering your time, donating toys or even donating money to the Toys for Tots Foundation. As far as volunteering your time, you can make a difference this holiday season by volunteering at your local Toys For Tots warehouse and assisting with the transportation of toys. the Toys for Tots Foundation has a program set up where you can convert a percentage of the sale of your unwanted items on Ebay into a monetary donation. If you have a car that has seen better days and wish to donate it, the Toys for Tots Foundation will arrange to have your car picked up hassle-free. Even if the car isn’t running, Toys for Tots will greatly benefit from your donation and will ensure that you get a tax-deduction. What a way to get an oil-bleeder off of your driveway! Celebrate the life of a loved one by making a donation in their name. In appreciation of your donation, the Toys for Tots Foundation will send a personalized tribute or e-mail to an individual or family member.
